Shively Member Covenant

We the members of Shively Baptist Church, trusting that we all share in genuine faith and have been baptized as a profession of that faith, joyfully join in this covenant together. 

We will regularly gather together, to join in praising God, to pray together, to sit under the teaching of God’s Word, and observe the ordinances of baptism and communion.

We will both corporately and privately place ourselves under God’s Word as the first authority of our lives.

We will pray in all situations, recognizing that prayer is an effective act of humility and obedience and is beneficial towards deepening our relationship with Christ.

We will be a people who are passionate about reaching others with the gospel of Jesus Christ wherever and however God leads us.

We will submit ourselves to others to be better trained and equipped as disciples and do our part to train and equip every member to grow in Christ and become more effective disciple makers.

We will regularly join in fellowship with one another, recognizing we are a family who are called to be highly invested in each other’s lives, bridging generations and cultures.

We will work together to value, serve, and equip families within our community to look more like Christ.

We will, through efficient use and intentional planning, steward all of the resources with which God has entrusted us to glorify Him.

We will give cheerfully, regularly, and sacrificially to support the ministry of God’s kingdom.

Above personal preference, we will unify in Christ and willingly submit to the Lord, to leadership, and to one another. 

May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with us all. Amen.
